John
Pelish came to America in 1898 at the age of 28. His heritage is of Russian
origin. The Census of 1910 says "Aust/Russian". His wife, Eva
(Eivka) Grathson was also from Aust/Russia and emigrated in 1897 at the
age of 15.
John and Eva were married in 1901. The 1910 Census shows that they resided on Hudson Street in Lackawanna County, Mayfield Twp., PA with five children (Listed below). John was a coal miner most
likely employed by the Hudson Coal Company (Jermyn Colliery) which was
also John died sometime in 1915. Eva was later remarried to an Alec (Alexander) Kuzima (Kyzyma).
